Updated: Jun 8, 2023

As the temperatures start to warm up and the flowers begin to bloom, Spring is a time of renewal and rejuvenation, and this year's trends also reflect that sentiment.

We are banking on bold colours, playful prints, self-care and sustainable living for Spring 2023.

Keep reading for some of the top spring trends to keep an eye out for:

1. Vibrant Colors

After a long grey winter, it's time to inject some colour back into our wardrobes. Gone are the days of muted colour palettes and subtle neutrals, we are standing out boldly in 2023!

This year, designers globally are embracing bold hues and vibrant colours - from rich jewel tones to vibrant neons and unconventionally bright pastels...these eye-catching colours create a sense of energy and excitement and are being incorporated into everything from event decor to fashion.

Bold and bright hues like shades of pink, orange, yellow and acid green are particularly popular.

Whether you opt for a statement attire or an eccentric colour scheme for your next event, don't be afraid to go bold with your colour choices this season.

2. Oversized Silhouettes and Athleisure

Comfortable and relaxed fits continue to be in style in the spring of 2023. Oversized blazers, loose-fitting trousers, and flowy tops are all set to be popular this season. Not only do these pieces look effortlessly cool, but they're also incredibly comfortable to wear. Comfortable and functional athletic-inspired pieces are set to continue to be a huge trend this Spring.

Think sweatpants, hoodies, and sporty shorts, all given a fashion-forward update through colour, patterns or luxe fabric. These pieces are perfect for a casual weekend look or for running errands around town.

Our new custom bleach-dyed sweatsuits are the perfect example of the upgraded athleisure trend. Each piece is unique and dyed by hand to order!

3. Crocheted Details

Crochet is set to be one of the top textile trends for spring 2023.

This classic craft has been given a modern twist, with crochet details being added to everything from dresses to bags. Whether you opt for a full crochet piece or just a few details, this trend is sure to add a playful touch to any look.

4. Mindfulness and Self-Care

In today's fast-paced world, it's more important than ever to take time to slow down and practice self-care. This spring, mindfulness practices like meditation and yoga are set to be more popular than ever.

Incorporating self-care rituals into your daily routine can help you feel more grounded and centred, which is especially important as we continue to navigate the uncertainties of the post-pandemic world.

5. Digital Detoxing

As screen-based tasks become more and more important and we consequentially are spending more and more time online, it's important to take breaks and disconnect from technology. Digital detoxing is set to be a big trend this spring, with more people taking breaks from social media and limiting their screen time.

Not only can a digital detox help reduce stress and anxiety, but it can also improve sleep quality and overall well-being. After a long winter cooped up indoors, people are eager to get outside and enjoy the spring weather.

From hiking and biking to gardening and picnicking, there are plenty of outdoor activities to explore. Spending time in nature is not only good for physical health but can also help improve mood and reduce stress.

6. Sustainable Living

Sustainability is no longer just a buzzword – it's a way of life.

From reducing plastic waste to embracing eco-friendly fashion, sustainable living is a trend that's here to stay. In the spring of 2023, look for more people to adopt a zero-waste lifestyle, reduce their carbon footprint, and support companies that prioritize sustainability.

Custom Hand-Painted Art Wall for Glenmorangie

As sustainability continues to be a key consideration in event planning, sustainable materials are becoming increasingly popular in event design. From recycled paper products to natural fabrics and plant-based decor, event designers are finding creative ways to incorporate sustainable materials into their designs.

Our collaboration with False Creek Fabrication to create our custom reusable photo/art walls is one of the ways in which we are trying to reduce our impact on the environment at events.

These walls are a uniquely artistic way to replace disposable plastic signage and create a high-impact installation all guests can enjoy. By using sustainable materials, events can reduce their environmental impact and contribute to a more sustainable future.

7. Interactive Elements

Interactive elements are becoming increasingly popular in event design, providing guests with unique and memorable experiences.

From immersive art installations to interactive photo booths, event designers are incorporating interactive elements into their designs to create a sense of engagement and participation among guests.

The Passion and Performance Vancouver presents Adventures in Toyland Show was the perfect representation of this trend with elements like adult games to engage guests and a life-size barbie box for the perfect photo op (pictured).

In addition, the show featured the stage in the centre of the room. Having an audience surrounding on all sides also added to the immersive experience of this exciting event.

Lederhosen and Dirndls on display in the Marketplatz at Harvest Haus 2022

In a similar vein, Harvest Haus sold lederhosen and dirndls at their Marketplatz to provide guests with the opportunity to fully immerse themselves into the German experience. Interactive and immersive elements make for great photo opportunities and make event experiences unforgettable!

8. Personalization

Personalization is emerging as a key consideration in event design, with event designers finding ways to tailor their designs to the unique needs and interests of their clients. From custom signage to personalized decor, event designers are incorporating personal touches into their designs to create a sense of intimacy and connection with guests.

With the custom hand-painted mural we created for Glenmorangie the artwork and style had to be personalised to their brand identity and Pomme Chan's artwork. Customising our work to gel with their design aesthetics for the premium event was crucial to creating a seamless experience for the guests.

At Vancouver International Polo Festival we had an artist on-site sketching people's gorgeous outfits as a personalized memento of their time there! The custom handcrafted artwork was unique to each guest and made the experience of attending the festival even more special!

The spring of 2023 promises to be a season of mindfulness, sustainability, and bold colours, designers are finding new ways to engage with audiences and create unforgettable experiences.

Whether planning a wedding, corporate event, or private celebration, these trends are sure to make a lasting impression.

Whether you choose to embrace one of these trends or mix and match them all, there are plenty of exciting options to explore this season.
